All of our seasoned logs are sourced form UK woodlands and processed in the Heart of Shropshire. The trees are felled, then cut into smaller pieces which are left to dry for at least 18 months. This helps to reduce the moisture content.
This is our most popular way people buy our seasoned logs. Our loosely filled 1.2m3 bulk bag of seasoned logs is easy to be delivered and provides you with a substantial load of logs. The ventilated bag helps circulate the air around the logs, allowing them to dry further.
Unlike a forced drying process like kiln dried logs, these seasoned logs are naturally air dried and can be used on all wood burning stoves and open fires. As they produce a medium, slow burn, they are perfect for cooking on outdoor fires. These are ideal to take with you when you go camping.
As the logs are naturally dried, the average moisture content is between 25%-40%, this is perfectly fine to burn on your appliances. However, we recommend that they are dried further, for about 2 weeks. With this in mind, it is best to order the logs before they are needed. This allows for the extra drying time, the dryer the log, the hotter it will burn, as it has less moisture to burn through.
They provide a good, constant heat output and can be used alongside other fuels, such as heat logs. If your appliance is multi-fuel, then you could mix with peat or coal. By mixing fuels, you will be able to achieve a high heat output, but have a longevity that solid fuel provides.
Our seasoned logs are cut to lengths of 25cm, which is the standard log size, recommended by most stove manufacturers.
They feature a mixture of different hardwoods, which are better at burning than softwood. Even though the heat output is relatively the same, hardwood lasts longer. This means you will be feeding logs to your fire less.
All pallets of our seasoned logs include free delivery within 20 mile radius (£20 for 30 mile radius, £40 for all other UK mainland deliveries).
